sound quality

i bought the sirius starmate receiver, and i love it. however, the sound quality is not what i had expected. in my brothers truck, he has the ford factory sirius receiver, and his sound quality is great. could it be because it is receiving a signal through the regular radio waves? or any suggestions that could help bring out the best sound quality. do the satellite antennas make a difference, maybe there is one out there that picks up better signals? thanks!

The antenna will not improve your audio quality - unless you are loosing your signal(periods of no audio). Having a RF adaptor will have a reduced SQ over a hard wired device. I do not have #'s for you though at this time.

Do a search for "P.I.E.". PIE is an adapter which will allow you to hardwire your satellite receiver through your OEM head unit. Cost $80.00 - $100.00, but dramatically improves sound quality.

Search here for information about using PIE in these trucks. Search the internet for PIE pricing.

I found a website that sells them, but how do I know which one is the one I need? If anyone could help, the website is here. I have the factory 6-disc cd changer, and a Sirius Streamer GTR. If you can find a cable for me, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here is a link to a site which offers the unit a little cheaper. This should be the correct part if you do not have the rear entertainment with DVD, but have the AUX button on your head unit. It is a direct plug in specific to the new body Ford trucks.
