Sirius: Xact Visor?

Has anyone seen this? Anyone have it?

http://www.xactcommunication.com/Vis...le-Kit-94.html

Thinking of getting this.. I really like how simple it is. The main thing I hate about the current receivers (XM or Sirius) is lack of mounting options in our trucks and how bad they look just stuck to a dash somewhere..

This seems like a great solution!

That looks fairly cool...

I have the XM adapter for my HU, and I had my installer mount the antenna under the passenger side plastic cowling. I think you should be able to do this in 04 type models too... I don't see why not.

Most people say the display is too small. It is cheap, though.

I've always liked the Starbase which separates the tuner from the controller/display. I could not justify that one now with the Starmate Replay with time shifting for less money. Or, the S50 is right around the corner.

Yeah, I think I may go with the replay as well...

If you want the best sound quality and nothing ugly sitting around your dash then look into an aftermarket Sirius ready CD reciever and buy the tuner which can be hidden under the dash. Eclipse is the way I always recommend people to go but you can give up some sound quality and go with Alpine.

Remember going the cheap route with Sirius/XM will translate into cheap sound.

Stay away from Circuit City/Walmart/Best Buy.

Are you just referring to these for just installation? I went to Best Buy today on a fact finding mission and they told me they would hardwire install one for $82+. That's nuts.

In most cases the quality of equipment and the kids installing are a joke. If you kid works for one of these companies I'm sure he is the best installer in town but in general you will not find quality.

$82 for the unit and install or just install? I wouldn't pay over $50 for an install expecially if it is a plug & play unit.

Just install. That's a bit ridiculous. And where do they get $82 from? That's a weird price.

Agreed..

I plan on getting the Eclipse double-din AVN deck eventually, but I want something in the interim..

XAct Visor

Love It. I installed it under my rearview mirror and run the wires through my headboard in my '06 F-150. Looks sharp. Cost me $50 and installed it myself in about an hour.

I checked that unit out at Best Buy last night. It's huge! But, $50 is cheap, and you may even be eligible for $30 rebate.
