2001 F-150 Satellite Radio OEM SWAP

I have a 2001 Ford F-150 XLT with the casette in the dash and the six disc changer in the console. I want to install satellite radio, but I want it to look OEM and be controlled through an OEM head unit.

I know PIE makes an adapter to do this, but you have to have a SAT button, which mine does not. Is there an OEM Radio with the SAT button that would fit in my truck? If so, I could use the PIE adapter and it would look very nice.

Thanks.

Nope, only the new body style has Satellite controls. You could risk it and get something like this for the newer body styles, but you will have problems fitting it in the hole as they are different and you may have problems connecting your harnesses.

eBay 6 disc in dash

Your only other option is to go aftermarket or for a universal satellite radio to be connected through a different PIE adapter.

There are so many features that a plug and play unit offers over OEM that the clean look is not worth your time or extra cost. Something as small as the Starmate Replay and especially the Starbase can be mounted cleanly.
