That's not a new recall, I got the paperwork on that one in April of this year. I did NOT have the recall done on my truck because I live in the south. It's for 4.6L engine that operates in certain extreme cold weather, northern climate states: Alaska, Maine, MI upper peninsula, Minnesota, Montana, NH, NY, ND, Vermont, Wisconsin and Canada. The reason: Vheical operation at highways speeds for extended intervals during ambient temp. below minus 20 degrees F (29degrees C), as typ. occur in the states listed above, may result in ice forming in the throttle body of certain 97 model year F150 trucks equipped w/the 4.6L engine. This may interfere w/proper closing of the throttle plate. Should this condition occure, the vehical may not slow down or stop as promptly as expected. The dealer will install a foam insulting sleeve over the PCV tube assembly.

I didn't have it done either. Sunny South Carolina here. Well... not sunny today anyway. But almost 60 degrees.

Cool

If you feel your vehicle needs or should have this recall performed take it to your dealer and they will perform it. Most likely they will have to order it due to this being a "special" recall. Special meaning it's not a nationwide thing. I live in Jersey and had it done to mine. If you don't live in that area, I wouldn't purposely take your vehicle to the dealer for the recall until you have to go there for work.

ps398,

Are you the original owner? You should have gotten a letter. If not you need to make sure the dealer re-registers your VIN in your name and address with Ford.

i am 2nd owner and dealer had registed me with Ford. i did get the lug nut recall. Service manager was surprised I wasn't notified and has ordered part for me. I don't usually take my truck to the dealership as it is out of warranty. i have an independant mechanic that I have used for years.

Actually from what I gather everyone who owns a vehicle that falls under a recall notice should receive one regardless.

Dealership said for our area it wasn't normally a problem but i still should have been notified because we are on the edge of the areas where it could be a problem.
