Lunging forward when braking
Lunging forward when braking
I am having a serious problem with my 2006 Ford F 150 with respect to lunging forward when I quickly brake. I have short arms and short legs. 5'8 and a 29 inseam. When I pull the seat up to the maximum forward position, I have to push on the brake with my leg at an approximately 23 degree angle. I have had four, almost very serous incidents where I have hit the acclelerator and the brake at the same time..carrying the truck forward....FAST.
I can diminish this tendency by pushing the seat back to a position where I can barely reach the steering wheel.
This is a seirous design flaw. Are any other short people having this problem?
With all due respect, you did test drive the truck, found out you were this short, bought it anyway, and now think it has a defect/safety problem? C'mon!
Geez, learn how to use your left foot on the brake...
Next vehicle, look for one with adjustable pedals. They will allow you to bring the pedals in closer...

That really sucks that you are having problems. I am 5'5" and I have not had any problems.
I have no trouble reaching anything except the radio controls!
Do you have the power driver's seat option?
I do and I know that helps.
Hope it gets better, because we got to drive
these trucks!!
