do the 04-05's have alot of recalls ?

hey all, I just lost my ride to a head on wreck with a dodge ram. looking to upgrade my 2002 s/c to a 2004-2005. When I look at all the car sites they offer carfax quick reports. All of the 2004's say 4-6 entrys, all the 05's say 3-6 entrys. Is this a recall thing or do all the used f-150's in ohio have an issue? thanks

there are no real "recalls" the 04's were obviously the first production, so they have some things- the 05's are much better- less pcm problems, many fewer issues- sorry bout your wreck, If i was looking at a new truck, I'd favor an 05. 5.4L V8

thanks for the reply. I have been doing alot of looking. I agree with you on the 5.4 motor thing, I test drove both and there is a huge gap between the 2. My 02 with a 4.6 would blow away the 04 with a 4.6 I drove. I guess we can blame that on the 860 lb. weight gain of the 04.

Nope, not really. A handful (like less than 200 trucks, IIRC) had recalls for potential fuel tank leaks. Some '04 regular cabs and Supercabs with 6.5' beds have a butyl insulating patch that needs to be removed from the right rear quarter panel under recall 04B23. That's about it.
