How do I Replace Cruise Control Deactivation Switch

My truck isn't part of the cruise control deactivation switch recall, but I want to replace it anyway. Can anyone tell me where the switch is located, and how to replace it? I'm no mechanic, but can do the basics like changing the oil and replacing the air filter (what a pain in the neck that is). Pictures or links to pictures would be very helpful.

Just do a search on the topic. There are many threads telling all about it. More than you will want to read.

CC switch is located in front of the brake resevoir

CC switch is located in front of the brake resevoir - as part of the unit. Part of the switch is colored orange or bright red. Someone else mentioned that if you google this, there are alot of posts.

I have a '99 Expy which I keep in the garage and I simply disconnected the switch about a month ago due to the overwhelming posts I discovered.

Hope this helps...

It is now in the recall. Time to make an appointment to get it fixed.

Do it quick. I went down the day it was announced and got right in. The guys at the dealer expect a real Cluster F... when the recalls go out; all 38 million.
