Angry clunking rear end

Has anyone come across this problem?

It happens when you take off from being parked or stopped at a set of lights, the truck clunks. Sounds like it is sloppy or loose in the rear end.
Took it to the dealership, they reprogrammed the transmission shift program(told me this was the cause)yeah right. Still clunking ....

Talked to other owners, some have the same problem and others don't.
Truck is new, with only 3000 kms

Yea, my 2002 still does that. It will do it from a complete stop or when you're just taking off or turning a corner, it will just seem to 'try to catch' then clunk. It doesn't do it all the time, so the dealer couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it. Now it's past it's warranty so I'm on my own. The truck has 30K miles on it. Hasn't seemed to have gotten worse over the years, but still does it. I thought it was the transmission but it's an awfully loud clunk.

Could be slip yoke or possibly clutch packs in the LS Differential. There have been TSBs for both.
