Here's my Freedom Ford on Military Highway did to mine tonight...



BTW I did cover the exposed plug on the master cylinder with electrical tape since they didn't.

NHTSA states, "The problem is that the short that develops on the SCDS is very high resistance and may not allow enough current flow to pop the fuse. In some cases it does in others it does not."

Texas Instruments appears to have made these switches and they recommended a 5 amp fuse. Why Ford decided to go with a 15 amp in #13 instead of what the manufacturer recommended is a head scratcher

Well they went with a higher fuse so that they could power more than just the Cruise Control end device. It would do no good if you only put in a 5A fuse only to have it blow out every time to turned on some other accessory.

Just got back from the dealer. It took them all of 2 minutes. Did it right in the service entrance.

How long should it take to unplug a connector and to tape it up. Your 2 minute guy was taking his time. What a slacker.
