just wondering why some threads have the little down arrow that allows you to view the last post , and others you have to click the last page then scroll down ?

In the upper right hand corner of the main Forums page it says:
You last visited ....

I think you will find that the down arrows you refer to are on threads that have been posted to since You last visited.

Whether you open the posts with down arrows is up to you.
If you don't, leave, come back with a new You last visited,
the arrows for those threads will be gone.

The first time I saw your thread here, it had an arrow and I thought "Oh, it's him..."

Then I logged off, went to church, got religion, logged back on and even though the arrow was gone, I replied.
