Anyone ever changed there USER NAME?

What?
You have to have a good reason for wanting to change it? How about not liking it, or don't want that username anymore. Sounds reasonable to me.
What are you kidding me? Why should you be penalized for not wanting your username anymore. Maybe you have a new username you'd liked to use that's more you. How hard is it to change a username. I could see if you have like 100 posts or something. But, what if you have 500-600 posts. I gotta lose all my posts to change a name that was "all right" to a name I like. Hmmm. Most of the time, the best names are the ones you come up with after you register.
You have to start all over again and I think that is the best and fair way to do it
The reason that we do not allow for changing of usernames is not a technical one, rather it is an administrative one. With almost 20,000 registered users over three+ years, I could see hundreds of requests for username changes.
I can see it now...hey Steve, could you change my username? I've decided that it no longer says what I want to about me. No, wait, I really like my previous username, it does make a statement about me...no wait, how about if I change it to...
Obviously I can see this getting out of hand...which is not the best use of my time.

No, not trying to do that. Just saying, maybe have a 1 time deal to change your name without be penalized. Then after that, have a damn good reason to change your name. Like I said before, sometimes the best username(for you) comes to you after you have already registered. Just a shame to be stuck with a name your really not digging. To have a name come up later on that you do dig. That's all. I defintely don't want this to turn into one of those L, non-L thingys again.
It's cool.
