Question Netscape render time/ Software Q.

Does anyone know why this board asks for 3 form requests everytime the page renders?

Why does this site take so long to render? Everytime I load a page, the CPU cycles get eaten up by this site (no matter which browser I use). I've never experienced this kind of issue with other forums.

If you are using Netscape 4.x to view these forums, your pageload time is going to be *very* slow. The reason for this is that earlier (pre-6) versions of Netscape did a terrible job of rendering pages with embedded tables. As forum software (like this) has evolved, there are more and more embedded tables. If you are using NS4.x, I would highly recommend upgrading your browser. (the performance of this and most other sites using this software will increase dramatically)

Regarding the form requests...it is not the default behavior of a browser to alert the user that a form is loading on a page. Depending on the page you request, however, there may be several forms. (for instance, the search box to your left, the form to add messages to the forum, the jump box to navigate forums, etc.)

BTW, when posting questions about the site, keep in mind that we do not monitor it 24/7. Just remember how much you are paying to use this site.

Netscape 6.x still stinks.
I don't like opera.
IE is too much of a pain (plus, i will NEVER run outlook on my personal computer)

I didn't expect you (the webmaster) to respond. I was hoping that some other user would know.

Corpsie,

Your question has probably been asked a dozen times since we upgraded to this software in July 2001...I am guessing that nobody replied because it has been answered before...
