Avatars

Did they get turned off or something? I noticed that they aren't showing up anywhere. In the options menu it still lists my avatar there. I know some people were bitching that they kill the server but in the options menu there is an option to not view users avatar. If you don't want to see them wouldn't that fix that problem? Personally I thought the that avatars were fun to play around with.

Ok I just read the announcement

HUKED ON FONICS WURKED 4 ME!!!!

Another message board that I go to had the same problem. What they did is the person who was kind of an assistant webmaster dealt with it. Whoever wanted to have an avatar had to email one that was the correct size and then the admins themselves went and added the avatar. Little more work but if you can find someone who will sort through them it has worked really great for them.

When they are activated they are small pictures you can put under your name. Just adds a little more personalizing to your post.

Question Steve

Are these avatars done with? Or, are you still working things out?Still wondering about them. This way I can throw them into the recycling bin. Won't need them anymore. I got so many of them, I'll free up some space. Not that I don't have plenty of room. Just waste space to me. Thanks.

Jeff

Sorry, I don't see the return of avatars in the near future. Their abuse is just one more thing to have to watch out for and IMHO they don't add enough value to warrant the problems they will cause.

Steve,

Alright cool. That's all I needed to know. I gonna trash the ones I have. There not gonna serve any purpose now. Too small to use for anything else. Thanks Steve,
