Lightbulb new board needs tweaking.

Please do something about the buttons. The white lettering in the light green button is unreadable.
Thanks,
noelvm

Also move "POST REPLY" button from top of thread to bottom of thread.

Lightbulb

Noel

There isnt much contrast but the writing is clearly visible on my Old laptop and on my 19" Monitor. Maybe tweaking the color settings on your monitor will help...... On most monitors there are contrast settings. See if tweaking the contrast will help

You might to post this in the suggestions Forum or I can move this for you....

I agree with noelvm. Looks like a downgrade then a upgrade. Old forum looked a lot cleaner. I have a sony monitor and cannot read the buttons either. THanks

hmm..

noelvm,

How many colors is your monitor set to display? I looked at all of the buttons on my 17" monitor displaying from 256 to 16 million colors and they looked readable to me.

Also, the Post Reply and New Thread buttons appear at both the top and bottom of each thread already...

Thumbs down

This really sucks! I stopped going to svtperformance because they switched to this same crappy forum design. Looks like NLOC is the only place left...

My computer like 99% of all peoples is set at 800 x 600 because that is what almost all websites are set on.

Ok I see the reply button on the bottom now. So much stuff to look at. I liked the old big black button better. It was easy to see.

Please give it more than 30 seconds.

There are a lot features that you will soon grow to like with this new software. Immediately dismissing it as terrible and calling it a "downgrade" is frankly insulting.

noelvm,

How many colors is your monitor set to display?

button color and contrast

I agree with the others. Why must we all adjust our monitors when it would be simpler for you to tweak your settings? Besides, right here in this reply window the buttons have black text and are quite readible. Why can't it be the same in the messages?

Kenster,

The buttons are 32 colors GIF files, they should render be rendering fine, which is why I am simple asking what noelvm's color settings are.

Nowhere did I tell anyone to change their color settings. Since re-opening the boards, there have been peaks of more than 100 simulatenous users. Three have complained about the buttons.

I am simply trying to find out if there is a need for me to redo all the buttons again, a time consuming process. Or, if the same people that are calling this a "downgrade" feel "they suck" just for the sake of complaining.

All in all, this is VERY positive change for this site. I believe that in a few days almost all of you will agree with this statement. For those that don't there is not much I can do. However, productive and respectful requests for change work much more effectively than messages that say "this sucks, change it."

I'm not sure I know what you mean by color settings. My resolution is set at 800 x 600. This monitor is capable of reproducing anything currently available. In my settings panel it says "True color 32 bit".

There 2 ways to adjust your monitor. (Unless you are using a laptop)

One is in windows right click the desktop and choose properties and you will see something like this You can adjust both the color settings and the resolution on most monitors and you may have LOTS of other adjustments as well.

However there is another adjustment on every Monitor. They all have brightness, position and contrast adjustments that are typically accessible from buttons on the front or ***** on the back of the monitor. Unfortunately each company does theirs a little different.

You should see 11 different shades of Grey from Black to white on this picture

Here are some web pages with info to tweak these settings

Good Luck

Ok, I've got a couple things going on right now...

1) My Wife just sliced her finger open on a Saran Wrap package, so I am going to bring her to the ER.

2) I am getting reports of people not being able to see the forums at all. These will take priority upon my return.

3) Tomorrow am, I will take a look at the buttons and see if I can do some cleanup.

4) I must sleep soon.
