Somebody else's photo albums?

I just checked my profile and found 3 albums from somebody else mixed in with mine. Any thoughts?

When IB merged the old galleries into the new albums, this happened with a few members. Just delete those that are not your.

Bad idea telling him to delete them. What about the member whose albums they are? Those albums will be lost forever.

I thought IB was taking care of that error. Guess not.

I don't think it is a big concern for them. We were fortunate they made the attempt to move the old files. I'm sure they look at is as if they had intended on deleting all of them anyway, so if a few end up getting deleted, not a big deal. Not sure how they would identify the mixed up ones, either. If you don't want them in your album, I think the only recourse is to delete them. If you happen to know whose they are, you could contact that member and let him copy them if he wanted. Also, everyone had been warned repeatedly for the last year to save any they wanted to keep.

So someone at IB told you this, or is your explanation based on assumption?

I ask because RP said this in another thread like this, but never returned with an answer.

That happens on the PHP forum ever so often. But both the member who uploaded them and the member who found them have copies. Unfortunately I think when you delete the pictures from one profile it also removes them from the other.

Good, now someone needs to make an overdue announcement.

It does not seem to be that big a problem. For now, we will deal with it as it comes up.

True, but a problem nonetheless. I suppose an announcement just seems like too simple a solution.

Thanks for responses. Since I didn't want to keep pictures of some strange dude and his bicycle collection, I followed Bluejay's recommendation and deleted them.

Stealth, as much as you'd like to make this an issue, it's really not. While we may have had a very few cases of people who seem to have inherited photos, we have not had a single report of a user who has lost their albums. Ergo, there is no need for an announcement about something that really isn't a problem

cheers,
robb
