hey everyone, great news!
Just got this email from tech.

STARTED f150online cold fusion gallery import into vbulletin albums. ETA for completion late tonight; running in heavily throttled mode to prevent site slowness.

Makes a bit of a mess if you happen to name the album the same as the gallery.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...rior-pics.html

This is one that I has the same name, and it imported all the pictures into the same place, so it is loaded with duplicates. Easy to find by the name of the picture ( the gallery picture name is the number, not the words ), to delete them. Too bad clean up will remove the picture from the old posts.

I could have changed the name on the new one had I known this was going to happen. This would have changed the new album name in the posts ( 80% sure that is what vB does with a rename ) and left the old ones alone.

I don't find my old gallery images in my profile anywhere. Must not have made the transfer.

Unfortunately, it's not perfect. Getting stuff from coldfusion over to vB was a task in itself. While I know there's a bit of disappointment, it was certainly easier for most users to have merged photos in this manner versus going in and manually pulling them back and forth - which most users would not have done.

Sorry for the problems but, this is a step in the right direction for the site to maintain some of the old galleries.

So did some of the galleries not make the cut? Did some checking and some people's got moved and some didn't.

it might be a work in progress and taking some time to the amount of data being transferred

SSCULLY, - I know what your talking about. The new albums have been like that since day one, noticed right away when I tried labeling album then pic description. What you have to be careful of is trying to correct or renaming. You can delete the wrong thing very easily lol. I lost a good portion of my new albums that way when I tried uploading some pics from my own "Old Gallery" photo's.

As long as the names or headings are completely different, you won't have a problem. If not, you have a headache on your hands.

For now, I just make sure the names and titles are different before upload. Or, you can change them after upload. It's when you hit submit or save, the problems begin.

I hope I didn't make that more confusing lol. You can get locked out of an album when it happens. It can disappear!

We're about half way through the migration, so if your pics aren't there, please don't fret.
We have 2000 albums still to go. Also, any albums without names, will be the last to come.

cheers,
robb
