I looked around for some time before finally seeing that a member must have 100 posts before PM's become active. Can anyone confirm this is true? I'm sure there must be a reason behind it but has it ever been considered to lower that requirement to like 25 or 50?

Seems 100 could take several months to get to...

Thanks in advance. I am quickly starting to like this site a lot!

Yes you have to have 100 posts before you can PM. I believe however that you can respond to PMs.

The reasoning is so that people don't get harrassed by brand new members that register just to cause problems.

It's 100 posts *and* 90 days of membership. No, you can't even respond to PM's, if I were to try to send you a PM, it would be rejected.

It's been brought up before, and the management has not been inclined to change it.

Dang, and I was looking for someone to harrass, the last person finally got a restraining order against me.

Just kidding. Thanks for the info man. I knew there had to be a reason behind it.

I got the 90 days of membership covered. Just not the 100 posts. O well. I'll keep plugging away at it.
