Exclamation Banned IP Address

I have to log on to the forum from my office location because for some reason my ip address at home is banned. Is there anyway to fix this?

The IP address is likely banned due to repeated violations of our terms of service. That is the only reason we will ban a domestic IP address. What is the IP address, have you registered previously on the forums under a different screenname or is there another person in your household that may have abused an account on this site?

I have only been registered under the same screenname of renglander since I joined. I do not post that often at all. I am the only one in my house who has access. Is there a way to have it restored?

Without knowing what IP address is banned, no. If you provide the banned address, I can research why it was banned and decide whether or not to remove it from the list.

It appears that the "69.31.*" IP address block has been blocked as a result of repeated single-post spammers, and it occured enough times that unblocking it would likely result in more spam, a problem we are now dealing with on an almost hourly basis. It does not appear to be a block based on anything you have done, however you may want to get with your ISP and find out if they have open relays that may be resulting in spammers utilizing their resources.

I have contacted my ISP and they said they are looking into it. Are there any options on restoring access to the ip address if they cannot change mine or do whatever it is they need to do?

So next Summer when i'm in Philadelphia from July - August will I be able to log on from there? Last summer I couldn't log into the forums at all, but was able to access my galleries though. If not should I give a heads up to the moderators before I go?

I am his ISP and you are blocking allot more then just our IPs.

69.31.144.0/20 is one of our ranges that fall under your entire banning of 69.31.x.x which is quite a bit of IPs. If you have IPs that fall under my range that are spamming please let me know and I will see what I can do.

We have only had this range since 8/9/06 so maybe it was being abused before we starting using it.

If you could please unblock 69.31.144.0/20 I do not think you will see any spam from this range. We also use 66.97.48.0/20 as well which I doubt you will see spam from.

Please let me know if there is any thing else I can do to help my customer access your forum and resources you guys have to offer.

Thanks

We have seen spambots from this IP range as recently as October 2006. I will go ahead and limit the block to a more specific range as a courtesy, but if we see problems again, the block will become permanent.

Have you seen it from my range or just the entire 69.31.x.x, As I stated you are blocking 1000s and 1000s of IPs from multiple ISPs. As I sated if you show spamming from 69.31.144.0/20 please let me know. Which is NetRange: 69.31.144.0 - 69.31.159.255.

nLayer Communications, Inc. NLYR-ARIN-BLK2 (NET-69-31-0-0-1)
69.31.0.0 - 69.31.143.255

Is the owner of all of the range before my 69.31.144.0 and a search on that range does turn up some spamming problems.

Thanks
Luke
