How do I change my forum name?

My forum login name is MDCurtis, I've been a member since about 1998. I'd like to change it to Curtis629. I use that name in other forums and would like friends to find my posts etc. I've tried using the contact information on the forum to get an answer but nothing comes from it.
help, is it possible? thanks

Hi Curtis, it has been policy here for as long as I can remember that this is not allowed. There isn't any way for you to do it except start over and you would need a new e-mail address as two 'members' can't have the same address.

Technically it would be possible to do but, if management ever did it for one person, the flood gates would open up and 1 percent would ask every week.

With 98,000 members
that would be 980 per week
or 140 per day
or 6 per hour
or 1 request every ten minutes.

You can see why the possibilities terrify them.

or you could keep using MDCurtis and somehow identify yourself as Curtis629 in your signature.

I may be wrong about this but, I think Steve fixed it so that Signatures are not included in the search feature.

It was a problem years ago but, I haven't had a 'Hit' on of a signature in a long time.

MDCurtis could end each post with 'Curtis629' before the sig, if any.
