Quoting only part of a whole post

Hey guys I've tried to quote only part of a whole thread and bring a quote from one thread to another but I can't figure it out. I'm sure it's super easy and I'll feel like a big dummy when somebody tells me how. But I hate quoting a huge post only to respond to a small section of it. If somebody could help me out that would be great. Thanks

Mike

You can just hit the "quote" button and delete the text you don't want to include, or you can copy and paste the text you want to quote and use the quotation code. Something like this:

[ q u o t e = "bubba" ] paste your text here [ / q u o t e ]

It weill look like this:

As a courtesy you should signify that you did not use the entire quote with three dots showing where your cut is.

As a courtesy you should...
...signify that you did not use the entire quote...
...with three dots showing where your cut is.

Ok Brother,

What thread are you busy quoting on? Must be pretty good for you to get all geeked up on quoting.

Use the quote key to bring the entire post into your new response, then use the cursor to highlight (as if you were going to cut/copy and paste) the words in question, then simply use the "delete" key to erase what you DON'T want...

"Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their Country"

Use the cursor to highlight the word "good", then use the delete key on the keyboard...

and you now have -

"Now is the time for all men to come to the aid of their Country"
