post count

I've noticed several members whose post count does not change over the course of a session. Even one member who reported only 1 post, but had several in one thread alone. Not really concerned, I brushed it off. Now I seem to be experiencing the same problem. Additionally, I am having more difficulty staying logged on. Sometimes, not always, if I right-click and open thread as a new window, it kicks me out and I cannot view the page under my user-specific settings. Not complaining--don't want any mods kicking me around--just unsure if it's something on my end or the site's. I assume it is the site, because I have changed nada and view the site regularly. Also, seeing the problem occur on another user first points the issue the other way. Any comments?

1. Post counts in the General Discussion forum do not count towards your total.

2. If you are having trouble remaining logged in, it is 99.9% a problem on your end. Check for the usual culprits, corrupted cookie, firewall settings, browser security, etc. There are many, many components and applications that can affect this.

3. As for right-clicking and opening another thread on the site, in terms of our login cookie, note that there is a difference between the url "www.f150online.com" and "f150online.com." If you are logged in with one, you will not be logged in for the other.

I actually kind of agree with this even though I will probably spend most my time in the General Discussion forum (I'm not too mechanically minded to be of much help in the other forums :o ). Other sites I have been to, there are a lot of post padders in those kind of general discussion type forums. It's amazing how many posts some people rack up.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense. I just had not heard it beforem, and with some of the other site 'problems' I've read about, I thought this might be another. Don't be fooled, most of the site 'problems' I've read about aren't really site problems at all, more likely the user's PC problems. ---and the webmaster is quick to point that out as well--- Thanks for the pithy comments!

It isn't, check out post # 1 of this thread "Not really concerned, I brushed it off."

In post #4, I elude to the idea that I was concerned about site related issues, post count just happened to be one of them. The one that was most relevant & tangible for this forum....

Pithy comments being made is a good thing.
