I have 2 items for sale in the classified section and I recieved these 2 emails back to back with just the item name changed:

When I had my truck for sale here in the classifieds I received this via e-mail. I sent this A-hole an e-mail back telling him I was not born yesterday and that he did bad things with his mother. He did not return my e-mail. Here is his scam to me. You would think you would at least learn to sound lagit!

Thanks for your mail and he said that since you said the Cost of the Truck is $22,000 and my client says there is no problem about the price,but like i told you in my first e-mail i make you to understand that i will take care of the Shippment myself and my Client is owing me $40,000 and he will be Issueing you a Certified Check of $40,000 which you will be Expecting while you Deduct your $22,000 and Wire back my $18,000 To My Personal Assistant who will then Pay off the Shipper's by him Self.So you will be Expecting a Certified Check of $40,000 while you wire me back $18,000 via Western Union Money Transfer as soon as You Receive the Check which I will be Using for settling The Shippers.After my Balance has been Wired to My Personal Assistant i will then Instruct my Shippers to Come to Your Destination to Pick up the the reserve for the Truck .So let me have your full contact Information to where the check will be Sent to like this.

I can't stand people like this.
Email him back and tell him you'd like to shoot him in the face. Tell him you'll be arriving at his house with 30 rounds of ammo, but since your Glock only holds 13, you would like him to send the extra 17 bullets back after you shoot him the face 13 times.

What a polesmoker. Grrrr....

Actually, if you tell him everything sounds great and have him send the check, can you just turn it over to a State or Federal entity along with the email so at least there is a paper trail on these people...........maybe im rambling, these ppl are a-holes.

The ****ty thing is if they spend 40 hours in a single week all over the internet forum classifieds - ford-chevy-whatever else.....if like 2 or 3 people bite, they can probably walk away with more money than I make in a month.

 

These scammers always make themselves appears so obvious in their very poor attempt to wirte in a manner sounding sophisticated and educated, while misspelling everything in site, and using wrong phrases.

Gotta love Nigeria.....

 

Remember this one? This is the check I got from John Dikko last summer when I was selling my L. Exactly the same as what you described. He wanted me to send him the difference. I called Discover and they confirmed that this type of thing has been happening for a couple of years. This one came from the United Arab Emerites. They said people have fallen for it too.

 

Tom sounds like a nice guy with numerous customers.., Willton is a British name....this guy is not in the states

I was going to discount tires to buy front tires for the mercedes today but if I can get a hold of this guy I'll pay him a commission to go buy tires for me

 

Western Union and all the other payment companies should offer rewards for helping catch frauders.

....but they probalby never catch any of them anyways......
