Question about the 'other' forum
So, has anybody ever been given a reason when they got blocked from the 'other' forum? At first I thought it was a mistake so I created a second ID and emailed the administration. The next day my second ID was blocked? Is this how they normally treat paying customers?

Sorry for being vague, didn't want to step on anyone's toes. FTE, and I had just signed up to be a supporter of the site. I also just bought a tuner from their online store for my F150 which was a $350 purchase.
I made a joke about the heavy handed moderating and someone came along and wiped out my post. Then they wiped out my access to the site. The only way I can view the site is to log out. If I log in, I get the 'you are not authorized to access this page' screen.
Looks like I'm moving over here. Hi guys!

Just an FYI, I believe that FTE is very well moderated site. While I have no idea what transpired for you over at FTE, and really do not care as it's none of my business (or anyone's here), my feeling is that whatever behavior got you banned from FTE would likely get you banned from here, as we are run with similar ideologies. With that said, welcome to F150online!

Hey Rocky-
The #1 rule that I play by is simple. You first have to realize that this is someone else's site. As long as you play nice, you're A-okay. A DEFINITE no-no would be calling out one of the moderators or the webmaster himself. I am not saying you have to kiss their butts, or that they are over you, but remember, you're in their house.
Another point: The moderators here are hand picked and, for lack of a better term, 'volunteers'. They have a great site, lots of info and they are very fair. It's hard to comprehend a members post sometimes (especially a new member), because you cannot read into the tone. The 'smilies' help out a lot. After a while, people will get to know you and we'll be able to catch the sarcastic/serious posts.
Until then, JUST HAVE FUN!!

I see where Rocky is coming from. He says he paid money to the site as a supporter and is now banned.
Contractually, one is bound to the terms and conditions yada yada yada and can be banned, regardless of financials, if the terms are broken.
Sounds like FTE acted in a manner to protect their site but I can see why Rocky would be a little peeved (after paying)
I think I'll ride the fence on this one.

I think there is a difference between well-moderated and OVERLY moderated...
F150online well moderated and the 'other' is/are over moderated.
I also find it interesting other sites have a bazillion mods, while this place keeps the peace with....what, 5? I think there is a lot of mod envy going on elsewhere... or a 'see who can ban the most' prize at the end of year.
