Question Problem Changing Profile

Every time I attempt to submit changes to my profile, the system accuses me of being a hacker! It lets me get to the editing screen after initially entering my user name and password. Then when I complete that screen and choose Submit, I get the message.
What am I doing wrong? I'm using the same username and password that got me to that screen, and that I post messages with. I've tried upper case, lower case, etc., at least four times.
And, what is ICQ Number?
Thanks,
BEJohn

It isn't you, Big Easy. There is a link that says click here if you are having problems with message boards. I did that and followed directions and I still can't edit my signature. Steve is working on it so we just have to be patient.

Thanks for the info, Jim. That's the first problem I've had with anything related to the board.

Thumbs up

Thanks, ATST. Hopefully I can edit my profile by the time my truck arrives. (No big rush, since it isn't even built yet and I understand the factory closes down two weeks during the holidays.)
Also, FWIW, I deleted the cookies, closed the browser, and reentered per the "if you're having trouble" instruction. No luck. I still got my username and password to pop up automatically, so I figured there was another cookie. So I deleted all suspect cookies manually. Still no luck (and it's still automatically giving me my name and password, as I had requested IE to do way back when).

I think that Steve's Bulletin Board Service provider may turn out to be the Grinch Who Stole Christmas!!!!!!
I too have done all the remedial work recommended and cannot update my profile/signature at all.

As a side note, in the last 30 days or so, I have been seeing a lot of "Wiiiiiiide" posts that I cannot wrap or reduce or download succesfully to my printer. It prints what is displayed. May be ignorance on my part, but it is aggrivating as all get out.

Understand, I'm not knocking Steve, he is the greatest. Just needs to talk to his provider I guess.

I ain't complainin' about the site; that's fer sure. Nothing ever works as easy as it promises. I participated in a mailing list for Buick GS nuts in the last couple years and this list works like a Rolls Royce compared to that thing. I'm sure all the bugs will be worked out in time (hopefully in time for me to post my signature by the time my truck arrives!).

Big Easy John, As for ICQ, Go to: http://www.icq.com/
And down load the program IF after reading about it, you want it. I have it and I like it.

Couldn't find the right Polished steel design, so once I modify the powercoated ones I just bought, I will paint them.
Q: who wants my chrome ones? Price:cost of shipping, or gas and maybe lunch if you live in S/E MI.

Bill instead of hitting "print", try running your cursor over the words while holding down left button. When all the text you want is highlighted, then go up to print and when the window pops up check the "Selection" option under print range (insted of "all" or "pages") That should print the whole text.
If that doesn't work do the "highlight" thing and right click on it, then choose "copy" this will copy it to your clipboard (it will adjust itself to fit on the page)and you can then Print it from there.

Finally some one to beat it into Neals head that his string of ------'s in his sig is causing this. He needs to either eliminate them or put a space between each - so that the computer can make a line break!!!!!

I made a *quick* little change to see if it would affect changing your profile - can someone who is having problems with this try changing your profile and post back to this forum whether or not you were successful. Thanks!

Thumbs down

Steve,
I tried first a regular profile change, and then the deleting cookie method entering through the front door and it does the same thing.
Thanks,
John

Steve:

Sorry, just tried everything again and no luck.

Perhaps you can contact your site provider again.

Happy New Year!!

I have sent ANOTHER message to the developer of the message board software and am awaiting a response.

The strangest part about this problem is that it is not affecting everyone, even after you deleted your cookies as requested. You did delete your cookies as requested, right?
