Coolant Leak.. Can't find it
Coolant Leak.. Can't find it
I have a small coolant leak that is driving me NUTS.. It is driping down at the bell housing of my Manual 5 speed. It is running down the sides of the front cross member engine support, mostly on the drivers side. I checked with my hands for a wet freeze plugs, but they seem dry, Nothing I can see form the thermostat housing and looking up from under the front at the base of the water pump and related workings, I don't see anything wet, yet I have a drip on the cross member.
It is a 93 F150 5.0L 4X4 5 Speed.
I did check the heater hoses at the back of the block behind the intake, they too seem dry. Most of the leak seems to be coming from the drivers side, at least the drip follows some path to reach that side. The final resting place of the drip is no where close to anything that has coolant in it. How many freeze plugs are on each side of the block, I guess it could be the side of the water pump and it drips down the side of the block to the oil pan rail, then it runs back to the motor mount, then drips down to the cross member then the driveway, but I sure don't know..
Any suggestions, less tearing everything apart or worse, Barrs Stop Leak!

Had a similar leak on my 92'. On the front of the engine below the thermostat housing is a fitting with a small hose about 4 inches long with a sharp bend in it (can't remember where it goes).
Water was coming from the underside of the hose and runing down the block and the wind from driving was blowing it on the top lip of the oil pan where it was running toward the back then dripping on the cross member, blah, blah, blah
Anyway, might be worth a look

Thanks guys, I look at these places tonight.
