Question 351 conversion (for 302) for $2300

A couple of months ago, could have been two years or more, I was looking through a magazine. Somewhere in the advertiser's section, or an article talking about crate engines, I saw an ad that listed a 351 fuel injection conversion for 1994 (similar models, but I don't know what years apply) Ford trucks with 302 engines. It came with everything from the pan and flaxplate (don't know if it was just for Auto or Manuals to), to the throttle body and complete wiring harness. The ad said it was a direct bolt in swap and could be done in (IIRC) 10 hours. It was smog legal for us California guys. It came with everything and the cost was $22xx.99 less shipping/freight, or you could get it delivered to your Ford dealer (can't remember exactly, but I think that's what it said). It was definately from Ford, maybe Ford Motorsports or something like that? It wasn't a High Performance/Horsepower engine, just what was offered in those years, but a replacement/conversion. I had commented to my father about this for his truck, especially since it came complete. Something Chevy doesn't even do on their crate engines. Anybody know about this, or possibly heard/saw this, maybe Ford pulled this? But I do remember seeing this, but I can't find it anywhere now.

Yes, it was about two years ago and it was a Ford Racing Parts ad. It was a complete 1997 EFI 351 engine assembly for that ridiculous price. And even more sad is some retailers were selling them cheaper than that, talk about missed opps. The bad news is they sold out completely in about two months after the ads ran, I know, I was going to buy one when I was informed, "sorry, they are all gone". KarKraft has some good deals on engine assemblies, they get them straight from Ford since they are right down the street in Michgan. They have Lightning long blocks for $2895 if memory serves me correct. I was going to do the lightning swap, but it required a lot of changes, so I decided to build a 327 stroker for my truck instead so I can use all my bracketry and such. Good Luck.

I have a 351 in my 93 and if you are looking for a power upgrade you will be underwhelmed <br> Probably be better off getting heads a cam and valves for your engine

I second that.
I run a rebuilt 302 .30 over with heads,cam,intake,and other bolt ons.
I just can't kill this 5.0L!

Aww, bummer we missed out. Oh well, since we would prefer more torque out of this truck, I'll see if I can convince him to do a 347 stroker. Thanks guys!
