Transmission

Ok, I have the 4.9, with the Manual transmission, i have no clue what transmission it is, i don't see a dip stick for the transmission fluid level? Plus, would it be a good idea to change it?

Manual trannys dont have dipsticks. It will have a fill plug on the side of the tranny, and a drain plug on the bottom. Just fill it up untill it starts running out.
You will probably get a lot of different opinions on how often to change it ,but I usually change the mine at about 50,000.

Most dealers recommend that it be changed every 30K. Personnally i do it about once every year or so regardless of milage. I have seen people run the same oil for the life of their truck with no problems, but i wouldn't recommend it. To check the level take the plug out of the side and stick your finger in it, if you can feel oil right below the bottom of the hole your ok.

How much fluid?

How much fluid does the tranny in question take? (M5OD?)

GM SyncroMesh works nicest in the T5 in my 5.0 'Stang (as recommended by Steeda and others), smooth shifts at any temp but it's pricey stuff...

Thanx.
