Air Filters

I currently have a K&N, and it is time for me to re-oil it, it is turning white in some spots. Well the re-oil kit is like $13, I was looking at the Kool Blue filters from Accel, cause they never need to be re-oiled. Also I hear people have lots of trouble with the MAF once they re-oil their K&Ns, what should I do?

I recommend getting an oil & cleaner kit for your K&N. The kit will last you AT LEAST 5 years, and the oil is only a problem with MAF's if you over-do it. Follow the directions, don't "soak" the filter in oil, and you won't have any problems.

Just my nickle.

Take care,

I agree with Chris. The oil goes a long way. Personally I think the problem with over oiling is due to people using the trigger type spraty bottle and over oiling. That or the little sealed bag of oil that comes with the filter.

The oil in the aerosol cans is much easier to put on evenly, and lasts a long time. I found one recently in with some bike chain lube and stuff in a box. I haven't had a bike in about 8 years, so I'm guessing it's a little old.
