Is my starter going?
I think my starter is going but you guys tell me....
My truck starts perfectly fine like in the mornings or when ever, unless I drive it around for like 1/2 an hour then turn it off for a few minutes and when I try to start it up again all's I get is 1 click from the starter then a few seconds later maybe another click and then it eventualy starts.

yeah thats kinda what it sounds like, when the starter gets hot from the engine heat the resistance increases, if the starter is going bad it won't beable to pass enough current through the starter till it cools off.

O'reilly's, it was a reman starter, not new. Maybe why thats why I had problems in the first place, I dunno, it was only 1.5yrs old or maybe 2 yrs. I would reccomend pricing a new one compared to a reman. I think Parts America also has a lifetime warranty. BTW, the alternator is a lifetime too, along with the U-joints, serpentine belt, even the starter selenoid and a ton of other stuff on about 30 reciepts I have, almost all of it from O'rielly's.
BTW, my buddie had the same problem (he was the one that told me it was likely my starter), and they gave him a hard time about replacing his, but he did get them to. They call it a "limited lifetime warranty" covering manufacturers defects. Therefore, they do not cover normal wear or abuse. This means that they CAN deny you a replacement for almost any reason, so your warranty is subject to whose behind the counter when you walk back in for a replacement. I deal largely with one parts store and everybody knows me there, so that always helps, but I've yet to take something back like a toasted U-joint.
