Thumbs up opinion on airbox mod

I went ahead and cut out the bottom of my airbox like a few others have done. It sounds so different, comparible to the sound of a 4 barrel carb. The truck really sounds mean now when you get on it.

I go mudding a few times a year so I am going to go to the local junk yard and tear out the bottom of the air box from another F150 so I can swap them when I need to.

This is definitely a worth while mod if not for the few h.p. I'm sure I gained, but for the sound difference in the exhaust note. I had no idea it made that much of a difference.

Look in my gallery and see the custom intake that I made. I love the sound and throttle response.

beastie,

That's a sweet setup that you have there. I am unlucky and stuck with a speed density setup, so hooking a cylindrical filter is impossible for me with out quite a bit of work it looks like. But I got my panel filter for free so I have a free intake right now that seems to be working well.
