Got my tint installed

I gou 18% on the rear and on the extended cab windows, and 50% on the front , cause I wanted to keep it legal. It is still pretty dark, and at night it will probably be hard to see me. I'll get some pics tomorrow. I hate that I have to keep my windows up for 3 days!! The AC uses so much gas LOL

Thanks inski21, I'm trying my best with the "old girl". Next I want to get a TransGo shift kit, and underdrive pulleys. After I do those 2 mods, that might be it until summer. I have to start saving for college. I still want to get the triple AutoMeter gauge pod. Well christmas is coming up LOL

Anybody ever done their own tint? I've been working on it a little and will be practicing some more. Its pretty cheap (>$20), but tricky to get it cut straight. Im gonna go dark and just play dumb and rip it off if the HWYP says anything. Anybody got tips on cutting it to fit?

Save up and buy Llumar tint. It is metallic, and will never fade. It has a lifetime guarantee. http://www.llumar.com/#

I put it on my car myself, I didn't do bad. The problem is that the dust in the window seal leaked behind the tint, and it didn't stick in the corners. Come to find out today, it is tougher to take off then it is to put on . When you install it, make sure that you window is soaked in windex. This will keep it from instantly sticking. Then I pushed the windex out from under it with a small plastic bondo spreader. Then once I had it just right, I slid the spreader around the edges with a razor blade on it. That worked better then I could have hoped for. I then pushed the very small amounts of windex left over out and made sure the edges were flat.

Ive been told that windex is harmful to the tint, and not to use it to install it. Remember, your not supposed to use it to wash tint. I was told to use a mild dish soap (like dawn) mixed with 10 parts water. I havnt had a problem there, or with it sticking on the edges, cleanliness is the key there. The biggest problem I have is getting it cut to fit and nice and straight. You just used the spreading tool and cut along it with a razor blade?
