Toasted a Camry
Well, I don't often partake of "race stories", but I thought I have one that's worth sharing since my adrenalne is still flowing good. There's a man from India who works with me and several other guys. He just came to America about four months ago. he's pretty easy to get along with, fairly nice guy....
except he really doesn't like American culture, or food, or people, or ....CARS. That was the last straw during a "friendly debate" with him. He kept pushing at how superior foreign vehicles are, and that American muscle is pathetic.
Well, I have 252,000K on my old '88 F150. I decieded about a year and a half ago that it was getting to old to hammer around with anymore, and I would need a vehicle that needed to last awhile. So, I really don't "race" anymore. But, after these comments, and him disgracing my truck in front of me in the parking lot. (Big parking lot) I politly asked if he wanted to see what 302 cubic inches of "pathetic" American muscle could do. He took me up on the offer. So, after everybody left for the day, we lined up in the parking lot, and had Larry drop his hat. I had it at about 2200 RPM's, and dropped the clutch and gave it all gass, by that time is was ready for second, which was all I needed. I could hear that Camry just a winding away threw my window. But he got to hear a 5.0 at about 4800 RPM's because his window was at about where my duals exit. (Straight piped
)
His '98 Camry was about a half truck length behind my rear bumper, after we passed the last lightpost. When I stopped to get out and rub it in a little, he just did a burnout and left.
I know I shouldn't be doing this with a motor with this many miles, but I just had to, I just had to smoke 'em. (Also had to add some oil after the race...

I love when I pull up next to Civics, Preludes, RX-7s (non turbo), Accords, you name it. They get there wing and huge exhaust and they thing that they are fast. I love when I come out of 1st @ 42mph, and they are 2 lengths behind me. Imagin their faces when they get whooped by a big old truck lol. But mine is still in its prime only 73k miles!! On occasion I get beat by one, but that is like 1 out of every 10, and they only beet me by a nose or something. 1 in every 20 will actually blow me away 9 (more than 3 truck lengths). On Saturday, I ran with a Jeep Cherokee 4.0L manual, and we went from about 30 - 60, and we stayed dead even. I mean we didnt gain an inch on one another. I thought he would have had the advantage with the much lighter vehicle and the manual. I would have taken him if we went off the line. I rarely loose off the line. 2 weekends ago, I wook a WS-6 to about 15mph, then he got about 3 car lengths on my 45mph. I have also taken a few stangs, and an early 90s Vette off the line.
