Angry Professional Valvoline Installer

I took my truck to a quick change oil shop while out of town. I had it serviced and I drove it back to the in-laws. The in-laws just had the drive resealed 3 days before I arrive. When I go back out the next morning to head to the track (US Nationals Drag Race) I had about a quart of oil under my truck. I did not know wither to sh*t or go blind. Looking under the truck, the Professional Valvoline Installer forgot to make sure the drain bolt had the plastic washer on it and it was dripping like a madman. I called and rose a bunch of crap and they said an installer would be right over to fix it. Well some 17 year old Professional Valvoline Installer shows up and all he has is a plastic washer and a wrench, no oil, no catch can, no rags. NADA... I just shook my head, took the plastic washer from him and sent him on his way.

Moral of this story,, Change your own oil....

LOL! Sorry to hear of your troubles, but 'tis the reason that I always change my own - all three vehicles; Plus my brother's, sis-in-law's, Mom's, Dad's, etc...... If I can help it, none of my vehicles will ever see the inside of one of those "monkey-lube" places.

I agree all those fast iol change places are crap. However, a new 5 minute oil change opened up by my house. I had them put Castrol GTX and of course all the other stuff the *do*. Well I have gone their live 4 times and all I can say is that they really do a great job. They charge me like $20, hell the oil alone is almost that much. They even give you a free Coke. Only complaint I have is everytime they close my hood they always leave their finger marks all over it. I always have to wash it when I leave but thats no biggie. And I love their faces when I have a new mod on and go their. They always ask about my exhaust and intake. I dont mind LOL

Trust me, 9 times out of 10, I change my own Oil, but on the road and out of town makes it hard to do.

These quick oil change places are for people that live in appartments, and places like cities. But hey, they serve a purpose I guess.... Just not for me..

the most inportant thing is here, is that he got to go to the drags still right. holy, you better not have missed that. hehe. i think you have to be able to bench press 400 lbs. to work there. because the guys tighten the plug until one side of the car lifts off the rack. and then another half turn. i allso think this is the real reason for broken motor mounts. hehe. i do my own oil.

Wild Horses could not have kept me from the Races. I was working for a Top Fuel Team on Friday, and was a bleacher bum on the following 3 days.

Who could miss a chance to see and work on 6000 HP Nitro Burning Monsters.

You got off easy

I had a shop use a pneumatic tire wrench to install the drain plug. They stripped it to shreds.

The Jiffy lube somehow created a leak at the oil filter. Now you have to be pretty lame to mess up an oil filter installation. When I took it back they tried to tell me it was a rear main seal leak. I made them put a new filter on. Funny thing is the new filter fixed my rear seal leak too! I agree with the previous posters. Change your own oil.
