Went to Autozone yesterday to buy a code reader but it said up to 95 F150's...so I ask what's the difference but they didn't know....they said if I buy it I couldn't return it so what's the difference and should I buy it? I couldn't imagine they would change the ECM for the last year of it.

96-on ALL vehicles use the OBD-II diagnostics. It takes a different code reader, the older ones will not work.

 

oh darn...the 95 down are like $30 and the 96 up are over a hundred...hmm possible x-mas gift guys?

 

you can get your trouble codes by jumping your data link connector on1995 an older and save yourself $30.00 but do not try that to an obd 2 if you dont know how write back and i can explain i use snap-on diagnostics it makes life easy
