Unhappy Loss of Power and Mileage

Hello Everyone

Lately I have been experiencing a lose of power over the entire RPM range and bad fuel mileage. Shifting patterns are dramatically different - 1 to 2 usually happens at 3500 RPM. I just replaced all my spark plugs for a start and that didn't help. After examining the spark plugs, all the cylinders appear to be consistant and show a little carbon fouling. My engine idles fairly great, but not perfect - and my engine immediately starts up everytime, (I do have an MSD 6A, which was installed over a year ago when the problems wasn?t apparent). My fuel filter was replaced about 6 months ago and my K&N is clean. What else should I replace or look at? NOTE : I have ODB-II (and MAF)

Hmmm... no codes? If you did plugs, go ahead and do cap, rotor, and wires.

Oh yeah, the check engine light is NOT on. The cap, rotor and wires, (timing updated) are all several months old. Over the past year, the only time the check engine light goes on is when I drive 500+ miles in one day. It later turns off by itself a couple days later - I thought nothing much of it since it never turns on during daily driving. I cannot find a shop that charges less than $70 to read codes for ODB-2. I have a ECC code reader for my 92 but that does no good.

I took my car to the Ford dealership. They said nothing was wrong with it and suprisingly did not charge me dime even to check it out.

However, I swear that something is wrong with how my engine is performing lately ...
