Headlight trouble-Help please!

Havin trouble with my lights-anyone else ever had this--

1991 F150
When I pull the headlight switch out to parking lights-nothing comes on-somewhere between parking lights and headlights parking lights come on-just a little further out headlights start and pulled all the way out-headlights only-no parking lights. There is one sweet spot between park lights and headlights where I can get them both on.

I tried replacing the headlight switch, but did not fix the problem. I noticed the wiring harness that plugs into the light switch had some heat damage.

It is a Canadian vehicle equipped with a daytime running light module that quit working about 5 years ago.

I also noticed that the headlight buzzer doesn't come on when you open the door with the lights on.

Any suggestions on where to look-

Whenever I tell people about this website, I always say when I have a problem with my Ford, probably someone has had it before me....lets hope anyway this time..Thanks

Thanks anyway-just talked to an ex ford man who said to replace the wiring block that goes to headlight switch-the heat damage is causing a short-aparently it was a common problem on tempo's, exploreers etc. because switch seems to run hot.

Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem...

one other note-not available at ford dealer-try a parts dealer per this guy-I'll post later if problem turns out to be something else

FYI

Yep it was the wiring block-bought it at the Ford dealer $22.00CDN- works great-now maybe I ought to change the daytime running light module...

May the FORD be with you...
