Also, make sure you apply a paper thin layer of dielectric grease on the tip of the rotor, and on the inside of the plug wire boots.

Take care,

Speaking of plug wires, how often should they be replaced? The reason I ask is because my truck has been doing some funny things at startup lately. In the morning, just after I start the engine, it will start shuddering as it climbs in rpm's. It sounds just like my roommate's Volkswagen Beetle. Then, it'll shoot up to 2000+ rpm's and idle there for a while. And a couple times in the afternoon after I've been driving for a while I will have trouble starting my truck right away. I'm not sure what the deal is. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

What you said about it being a little hard to start after driving it for a while sounds like a coil. thoses things get pretty darn hot and they don't like the heat at all.

Summit has some pretty good deals right now...I just ordered a package deal of Accel 8mm wires, Distributor cap, rotor and plugs for about $50 and I just got a MSD TFI coil for $40...it was cheaper then stock.

Next time this happens, unplug the IAC, and tell me what happens.

Take care,
