E4OD converter, where to buy

I need to replace the torque converter in my 1993 4.9 E4OD and I am looking for advice on where I should try to purchase one to install myself.
No hot rod stuff, just a stock TC is what I need.
Also, is there anything special about the R&R ? Or is it a straight off with the old and on with the new.

Thanks for your time and any help.

There is a seal (on the trans itself) that surrounds the neck of the TC, careful with that. Also as you install, rotate the TC and listen and feel for 3 clunks as it falls into place...wahl- lah! You're done.

Place to purchase, I don't know. Is yours bad? They might want your "core".

Thanks for the quick reply. And the tips on the R&R.
I appreciate it.
Yes my TC is bad (I hope). I've had a shuddering problem for awhile now. I did a filter / fluid change including the TC fluid and it drove like new for about 2000 miles, then the shuuder came back as bad as beofre. I did one more fluid change including TC fluid again and this time it had a minor improvement but still has the shudder.
I figure I'll gamble and throw a TC at it and hope it fixes the problem. I'm trying to avoid a 1500.00+ rebuild.

I know the trucks not worth a whole lot of $$$$ but it still looks great, never been hit, and the 4.9 runs real good (115K miles) and doesn't leak or use ANY oil.
I replaced the ball joints and re-arched the leaf springs not long ago and I want to drive it forever. It's all stock and certainly no hot rod but it looks good and drives well also.
Thanks again,
Dennis
