Radiator Info

I'm not sure yet if I'll need a new radiator but I"m planning on needing one...any places I should start looking or places I should try?
at www.carparts.com they want around $200, I'd like to be as close to free as possible.

NAPAONLINE.COM and FORDPARTSONLINE.COM both list them as "Non-Heavy Duty" for around $160.00 and Heavy Duty for $215.00. Seems in the ball park. What is wrong with yours? Can it not be fixed? I had one cut and modified and it works great.

BTW... I have a friend that has several of the Ford vans that 4.9L engines in them and he may have a radiator for cheep

I've been chasing a over-heating problem for the last few months...went through a hand full of t-stats, new belt, new hoses, new fan clutch, timing checked, and I'm in the process of installing a new water pump, but I have a feeling the old pump was fine, I've flushed my radiator 5 times in the last week...should i spend the extra cash and maybe try having it flushed professionaly?.....I'm going to have it out today...is there anything I should try while it's out?

Thanks Justin for the links...$160 isn't to bad.
I'f I can't get things worked out maybe you could talk to your friend for me.

I had the one in my Jaguar "Boiled" and it helped TONS.. Cost about $35.00 here in So. Indiana and No. Kentucky.

It would get hot in traffic, did the H2O pump, oil cooler, trans cooler, etc.. Still over heated. Boiled it and worked well since.

I guess you have checked timing, colapsed hoses( inside and colapse and still look ok.).

Good Luck!
