I went with true dual on my 96 and am loving it! I got rid of the cats and ran 2 1/4" to 18" glasspacks then exited behind each wheel. It really woke the truck up! I didn't notive any low end loss and gained seat of the pants on high end. What I did for O2 sensors was just have the shop put them into the pipes in the stock location. Never had any problem from it. They actually used a bad O2 sensor they had kept so they wouldnt' damage mine when welding everything. It is all custom work, but the $$ I saved by using glasspacks more than paid for the rest of the setup.

Well, I went ahead and purchased a Flowmaster 40, single 2.25" in/dual 2.25" out. I think this will end up working well, and should produce decent sound out of the 351.

I ordered a superchip also from the online store here, so the truck should end up running pretty good.

I'm thinking about ordering some pullies off of summit racing. It's a 3 pulley pack, has anybody had any experience with these? It seems like a worthy basic mod since it's only $80.

I have some credit at a local truck performance shop. I think I might use it on a K&N FIPK.

Donate54,

Thanks for your opinion on the pulleys. I'll have to pick up a set of those for sure.

One last question about the exhaust for you guys. At first I was just going to go with the dual tips straight out the back (like you see on millions of chevy's) but now I think that it wouldn't look as good as just going one to each side behind the rear tires. I don't know what it is, but the picture just doesn't look right in my head. Does anybody have some input on this? How about any pictures that might be floating around somewhere?

Thanks again.

On my 86 E-150 with a 302, I just bought an Aerochamber muffler and did a single out 2.5". I used a single baloney type tip and welded it on. It sounds nice and did boost the power a little. A good flowing single pipe system will work just as well as two small dual pipes. It just doesn't have the "look" or that dual exhaust "sound",,,,,98
