problems

ok two months after getting my truck all fixed , it started running rough again . i've been driving it that way cause it wasnt very bad . well right after i painted my truck my idle shot up to about 1000 rpm's .i figured i had a vacuum leak . just didnt have time to look for it . well today i had the time and proceeded to track down the leak . at first i thought it was the red plastic line from the manifold to the air canister and that line splits back and goes to the EVR . so i changed all that to rubber hoses , but i still had a leak . so i checked the MAP vacuum hose and it had a very small leak . so i also changed it to a rubber hose. still got a leak .
so i pulled the black hose from the vacuum canister and checked it . big leak . so i replaced those hoses too. that hose goes to the TAB & TAD solenoids , so after replacing the hoses i checked and still had a leak there . so i pulled the lines from the TAB & TAD one at a time and checked . the TAB solenoid was leaking inside . so i go to the local auto parts stores . they haven't the slightest idea of what i am refering to . so i remembered in an e mail chris had sent me when i was fixin my truck before he called them the AM1 & AM2 solenoids . still no luck in finding them . i sure hope these aren't a dealer item . maybe bumper to bumper will have them or napa tomorrow ?? in the mean time i took the dang thing apart and put a piece of plastic over the part that was leaking and snapped the top back on it . the idle has dropped back to where it is suppose to be now . but it still runs a bit rough .

what does TAB and TAD mean? Otherwise I don't have a clue either.

TAD = Thermactor air diverter
TAB = Thermactor air bypass

both these solenoids control the air bypass valve on the air pump (smog)

my TAB solenoid is leaking vacuum .

AM1 & 2 =Air management 1 & 2 ??

Oh ya, I know what they are. Haven't heard TAB & TAD in a long time tho. Sounds LIke dealer only pieces. IMO. I usually have some success with Napa. If it where my truck I'd slob some silicone around them and let dry. until I could find the parts, or a plug.
Good Luck

i took the top of it off where it was leaking from and put a piece of plastic in it and put the top back on . then tested in a sink of water . it seems to be ok as far as not leaking . but i dont know if it is working or not
