Raced a Blazer
raced a 99' 4.3 L V-6 Blazer today . he was in the fast lane going slow on the freeway so i moved into the slow lane to go around him . he decided he didnt think he wanted me going around him so he stood it to the floor . i proceeded to pace him (knowing his govener/rev limiter would kick in at 95mph) when he lost all power i laughed my *** off and moved over in front of him

well if you have a tach and you don't wanna hit that limiter pull fuse number 8 but you really can't resell the truck because the odometor shuts down to my truck has 280000 on it and it says i have 109000 because before me my father pulled the fuse alot. But hey what you going to do.Oh and indoor lights go out so do power mirrors and the bed light dies. I think that is all.
maybe it is on a 95 . but on my 90' i dont believe i have a speed limiter . i've had the speedo all the way back around to the d for od , i figured i was doin bout 115 ?? i've had the tach up to bouts 4600 rpm's (thats where it shifts when i am at WOT ). no problems .

I don't know about '91 and older, but since 1992, all Ford vehicles have a built in speed limiter. It varies for different vehicles, but F-150's tend to cut out around 105. The first time mine went off, I thought I blew up the engine. Freaked me out until I realized what it was. Installing that JET ECM chip eliminated it, but now that the chip is gone, the limiter is back. The cool thing is that with the 10.5 x 31's, I'm actually going closer to 115 when it thinks I'm going 105.

I also could only go as high as 105 MPH, the only way I could tell was my friend was in a BMW and we both had Talk-abouts on the freeway. I had both a 302 and a 351W, and I believe both had enough juice to go past 110, if the limiter was removed. Blame it on the JUICE! OJ that is.
