Subs in these older trucks

I have seen that some of yall that have a regular cab have subs behind your seats, but i have never seen anyone with subs under the rear seat like the do with the new models. Well I decided to rebuild my box and I accomplished it. I put 2 JL8W3D4s under the rear seat. I raised the seat with the LMI High-Rider Kit (1 hour to install). Then I built a box out of 5/8" OSB board, and carpeted it (2 1/2 hours). Installed the amp on the bottom of the seat (the metal frame it has). It sounds great. Only problem I ran into was that there is a heat shield that his over the cats and ends right before the muffler, and since the subs fired downwards they made this rattle extremely loud (couldn't hear it in the cab with windows up but it was extremely noisy outside). I had to crawl under the truck and stick some pieces of galvanized steel tubing in spots so that it applied more pressure between the shield and the floor of the truck. After this was done everything sounded great. I'll have pics of it tomorrow.

Oh BTW the box isnt just a simple box, because the back seat slopes downwards towar the rear I hade to build the box on an angle 9" in the front (including the legs ot hold the box up) and it eventually tappers of to 3" in the back.

I just put 2 10's, MTX Punches in Logic boxes with a MTX Thunder amp, powered by a Pioneer deck. All packed into a 96 f150 reg cab.

Sorry but I paid to much not to brag about it.

SPROCKET_X They sound great they dont hit as hard when they fire up, but that doesnt make any difference all I did was pulled the heat sheild away and jammed some metal tubing to make it have a snug fit. Now it is fine and sounds great

Plans

Did you save the box measurements? I have the lift on the back seat, but have not figured out how to build the box.

Well the boxes aren't the best brand but at the time they were the only ones I could find that would fit behind the seat w/out having to loose leg room...but I saw some MTX boxes a few weeks ago that are the same size...I'd rather have those. The amp is a mtx thunder8302. I need to get another amp for the speakers so the deck won't have to power anything cuz my speakers can't realy keep up with the subs at higher volumes.
