Ext radius arms ?s

Has any one ever used extented radius arms without a lift kit?
Can I use extented radius arms w/ a 2" kit?
Do the ext radius arms really make a good difference?
Should i just get an econo 4" kit and wait and save for the ext arms?

Just trying to figure out how to stuff more tire under the truck.
Lets brainstorm here.

Oh ya, I'm considering Super swamper radials 33x10.50-15, kinda narrow but good in snow. Would like to go 33x12.50 or 35+

Just some helpful advice:

Adding height to your truck (ie body lift/ suspension lift):

will allow for taller tires by increasing the clearance of the bumper and the edge of the fender. This also helps to slightly increase the width of the tires that can fit. However, once you've got the widest tires that will fit without rubbing on the radius arms, adding more lift will NOT allow for wider tires since it does not change the distance between the hub and the radius arm.

Adding extended radius arms:

Won't allow for taller tires, but they will allow for wider tires by increasing the inner clearance since they are further from the tire than stock radius arms.

I wouldn't put any tire wider than 10.5" on my truck without extended radius arms. Maybe 11.5" if I was short on cash, but 12.50" will definately rub, unless they are generic tires that really only measure 11" wide (which is the case with many tires actually). My tires actually measure 13.0" wide, and they rub slightly on the extended radius arms, but it is nothing compared to the stock radius arms! And that was with 11.5" wide tires. (I got the Dunlop's after I put the e.r.a.'s on.) And like I've mentioned before, e.r.a. not only help clear wider tires, but they also improve camber and alignment. Don't ask me the geometry of it all, but my wallet and the edge of my tires can back me up on this one.

I don't have any information on the applications of extended radius arms on stock vehicles.

Thanks TF.
I don't think my front bumper will rub because the smittybilt left 3" more clearence. The fender edge is a different story like you mentioned. When I went from 30 to 31s I knew the radius arms would be close, especially turning in parking lots and such. The problem is I'd like to get lift, e.r.a.s, tires, and locker all at the same time. But money isn't on my side

I plan on getting the extended arms for my truck. I have 35"x12.5" swampers right now and i can't get anywhere near full lock without hitting the arms.
