EAOD shuttering at highway speed

I have a 1993 F150 with 4.9 and EAOD transmission.
I have a problem that would would really appreicate any adive or suggestions with.

When I'm rolling along the highway and I come to an incline or just want to make a pass or even just accelerate a bit, I get a shuttering feel and sound. Kinda feels like it doesn't know if it wants to downshift or not.
It will continue to shutter until I either let up on the gas or step into it pretty good to make it shift.

Truck has 110K on it, and the tranny fluid and filter haven't been changed in a long time. Maybe 60 or 70K ago.

Any suggestions, idea's or advice how I can repair this problem ??

I sincerely appreciate any help. And thank you for your time.
Dennis,

It doesn't do it as much if you aren't in OD. These automatics suck. I'm glad they came out with the OD switch, kinda late for us though.
