yes progressive overloads . the more weight you put on them the "progressivly" increase the springs ability to handle a load . and they are adjustable to . i can set them down to ride as my truck does now . or crank them up to ride like a 3/4 ton

i ordered the lp-25 (2500#)

i have installed many of these over the years of working in the RV industry . i put a set on my ex bosses 93 F150 4x4 and we put 8.5' campers on it to transport to RV shows . i've put them on 1/2 ton trucks for cruise america also to put on 9.5' campers on them for rentals.

Macgyver: If I have this right you are in the RV business and since you just got some helper springs I have a question for you. Which springs would you recommend? I was considering the Roadmasters, do you know anything about these? I'm looking for something that will help when needed but not give me a harsh ride when empty. The roadmasters also claim to reduce axle wrap under heavy acceleration . I won't be towing or hauling any major loads, just occaisional yard stuff and my boat, about 3000 lbs. I also don't want to spend much over $200 if possible.

yes i have heard of roadmaster . they also make tow bars and accessories. unfortunatly i have no experience with they're helper springs :-( but you basicly described the hellwigs . lol . take a look at the link i put up . they have less expensive models that might be more in line with your price range?

They look like they would work for me. The site said just install w/hand tools. Was it easy? Do I have to disconnect any existing stuff or do this just sit on top of the spring w/separate U-bolts clamping them to the spring. Do you have to lift the truck and let the tire hang to install?

well it makes it a little more accessable with the tire off , it is all add on . u bolts etc.. for them comes in the hardware kits . nothing to unbolt or remove at all . they are a pretty straight forward install . i can do a set in about 30 mins .

never heard of them the way the front ends are on these trucks probably the best thing would be an interior spring air bag ?. air lift makes bags to go inside the springs . a set probably run around $100 .

Think I have the LP-25s, too... the RV place installed my Ride Rite air bags on top of them...

Pretty beefy. Doesn't sag at all under my gooseneck horse trailer.
:-)
