F-150 w/ tow package?

As some of you know, I have been getting lousy gas mileage in my 95 F-150. I've tried the K&N Filter, tune up, new plugs and wires, ect... Any way... today I found out that this truck has a tow package (not sure if that is the correct wording) but could that be causing my crappy MPG's? Also, any ideas on what gears i would have in this thing?

Thanks,

Blaze

do you know whats included in the tow package? btw, lower gears might cost you a few mpg so that might be partially responsible for the lousy mpg.

Jay-

TYPE GVW: F142 = F-150 4x4 / GVWR 6250 lbs. / 133" Wheelbase

WB: 133 = again, 133" Wheelbase

TRANS: M = Manual 5-Speed Overdrive (M5OD) (Mazda)

AXLE: 19 = 3.55 Non-Posi / 3800 lbs. Capacity

Take care,
-Chris

Yes. As a matter of fact, they make 3 different 3.55 posi rear ends. They are axle code:
H9 (3800 lbs. capacity)
B9 (5300 lbs. capacity)
C9 (6250 lbs. capacity)

Take care,
-Chris
