351 throttle body...
Does anyone know if the 351 uses the same size throttle body as a 302? (non lightning) If its bigger, do you know if it can be adapted to a 302? They look like they would work? I know there's tons of these in the junkyard and if the size is bigger I may try putting one on my truck.

one issue you need to keep in mind that even if you put a larger TB on it is still restricted by the stock size of the plenium behind it . this will need ported and polished to the size of the TB or larger .
here is some info i found . will bolt to stock TB with no mods to plenum. price is $287.00 + S&H
Ford: 1987-96 5.0L-5.8L F150-350, twin 61 mm, 50-state legal, cast aluminum, performance throttle body
This Edelbrock high-performance throttle body is part of a winning combination for today's late model 5.0L-5.8L truck enthusiast. This twin 61 mm throttle body is ideal for stock manifolds and produces approximately 15 percent more air flow than the production throttle body. It's also 50-state street legal for all 1987-96 5.0L-5.8L F150-350 trucks. Gaskets are included.

Thanks Ray,
I've seen the edelbrock throttle body, but I figured If the 351 TB was bigger than the 302 It would be a cheap upgrade. I see in your sig that you are planning to get an edelbrock...let us know how you like it.
Anyone else using the edelbrock throttle body?

There is a guy over at the NLOC boards with both throttle body and intake for sale. Go to NLOC.net and check under MISC parts.
I just noticed it the other day and he didn't have any offers yet. It should be easy to spot.... I can't remember the thread title, but it caught my eye.

stock throttle body size
I saw where edlebrock sells a twin 56mm & twin 61mm tb for 302/351. Does anyone know the stock size for the 351w tb w/speed density? (my truck is a 94) Will a tb replacement give me more low-end torque? I'm not interested in high-end hp as I tow a boat and need the low-end tq more than the hp gains. I'm planning a K&N drop-in with a modified airbox. Also, does anyone have experience with ignition changes? Will a Jacobs or MSD give me more torque or are they better for high-end hp?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
i checked my TB size today . it appears to be 53 mm . so either of the edelbrock TB's are larger . as far as the numbers go (dont know if it is high end or low end ) i believe it is about 20 hp and 15 to 25 tq. , i'd like some info on the msd ignition parts also i am thinking about that too.
I was never a big fan of changing the ignition, i think ford is just fine. if you go wheeling and something brakes out in bum**** what do you do for parts. at least you can go to a dealership or napa or something for stock parts.
