Will a C6 from a 460 work with a 5.0?
Will a C6 from a 460 work with a 5.0?
I have the opportunity to get a free C6 from a 197X t-bird I believe. Will this transmission bolt up to a 95 f-150 5.0 with minimal hassel? Any one know whats involved in this swap? Would it be possible to keep the 4x4? My mileage is starting to get up there, and i think i'll take it if i can use it down the road.
Thanks,
scott

well only problem i see is the size of the bell housing on a big block ford motor is different from a small block ford motor . and the tail piece length may differ . do you have an AOD or an E4OD?
if you have the AOD the swap should be relativily straight forward if it will fit .

looks like a no-go. Oh well I thought i'd look into it.
What about a c-4 ? how much work would be involved in swapping the AOD in favor of a c-4 while keeping the 4x4?
there's nothing wrong with my tranny right now(knock on wood), but with 145k I thought I'd take a look at my options when, and if it decides to head south.

Doesn't the C4 &/or C6 have removable bells? I'd check the Mustang forums and mags and look for vendors who specialize in conversions. It seems to me that I've read about this same situation before. 5.0L with c4 and c6s are kinda common in the drag world.
