porting and polishing intake

I have a cast aluminum intake manifold (Edelborck Performer), and the inside is very rough due to being cast. I know that on carbed engines this roughness is good because it creates turbulance that causes better fuel atomization. However i am converting it to throttle body injection, would i gain anything by porting and polishing the inside of the intake??

You can clean it up a bit by removing the casting marks but I wouldn't try porting it, unless you have some experience. You might also want to look into getting it "extrude honed" which basically forces a putty like material through the intake that significantly helps the flow.
